I had read about the “Glendale Glitters” light show on somebody else’s blog and thought it looked really neat, so we decided to check it out. We could have gone during Christmas, but I saw online that they were also going to have a balloon glow on the final night. So, we decided to wait and go last night . . . along with a million other people!
We arrived around 7pm, found a place to park on a side street a few blocks away, and walked toward the lights.
Glendale Glitters, with 1.5 million lights, was recognized by CBS News as one of the Top 5 Holiday Light displays in the nation. It was definitely an awesome display, although we probably would have appreciated the light display itself more if there weren’t so many people.
The balloons also, although they were really cool to see up close, detracted from the lights.
We moved through the crowd, stopping to listen to one of the many bands performing, to watch a balloon inflate, or to watch some kids having fun.
Everywhere we looked, there were lights,
more lights,
and balloons . . .
and a few interesting characters!
We stayed for a couple hours, enjoying the display and trying to avoid the crowds . . . the boys could have done without the crowd, but it was still a nice evening!
That is definitely something to see but like the boys Kathy would prefer to avoid the crowds. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
Sure looks like an interesting way to spend an evening!

I am a Phoenix native and we return here every winter, but can't get brave enough for the crowds at the Glitter. It looks beautiful, might try it next year. Thanks for the great pictures. Becki
