Last weekend, we had visitors again – Tom’s Dad, brother & sister-in-law, and nephew and niece. They rented the cottage on the site next to us, staying for 4 days – so we had plenty of time for exploring the area that they’ve never been to before, and some time for relaxing , too!
Bryce took his cousins up on the dunes,
and then came back to take Grandpa and Uncle Joe for a ride, too. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing up there – there was quite a bit of sand rail action going on for a Thursday night!
The guys went go-carting at Craig’s Cruisers one afternoon, and Joe and Kathleen went for their first swim in Lake Michigan!
It was a beautiful afternoon at the beach!
We made a couple trips to Pentwater – one day to walk through the shops and check out the beach,
and another day for the Pentwater Homecoming Parade (that’s a blog post all on its own).
This was the first time I actually had time to walk through all of the shops, and there are some great shops – I made a couple purchases for the RV and Jeep.
Our new decal for the Jeep
My new little Sailor
And a couple of cool coasters for the RV
We cooked a couple of dinners together at the RV, and enjoyed a couple of dinners out at favorite local restaurants.
Bryce tackled the “notorious bear burger” at the Brown Bear in Pentwater,
and we enjoyed a lovely evening at the Bucket Bar with delicious pizza.
The cousins enjoyed outdoor games while we waited for our pizza and salad.
On our last night together, Bryce got a pontoon boat and took us on a tour of Silver Lake and the dunes (but that’s also a blog post of its own).
Oh yeah, Bryce’s T-shirt was another Pentwater purchase . . . who gets it??
It was a really nice weekend, and I think everyone had a good time. It was especially nice that Bryce and Kathleen were able to spend a little time together before they both go off to college in a couple weeks.
We had a couple more visitors, too. On Sunday, our neighbors from our old neighborhood, Harriett & Rita, were on their way up to Manistee to camp with friends for a few days at the casino, so they stopped by for lunch with us. It was great to catch up with them again, and we took them on a quick tour of Silver Lake and over to the Wave Club so they could see Bryce at work. So glad they could stop by!
