Our rainy weekend gave us the opportunity to finish a couple puzzles,
catch the movie “Non-Stop”, and get our taxes finished.
By Monday, the rain had moved out and temperatures were back on the rise.
We’ve had some more beautiful sunsets,
and the desert is starting to bloom!
A conservation group has been working on maintaining the trails in the park, and building new trails. The work they did on the Roadrunner Trail, from the Visitor Center, past the campground, and to the 10-lane boat launch has made it wider and smoother – much easier for walking. Today was one of Bryce’s mornings for running, so Tom & I and Nicolas took Casey for a walk on the trail, too.
It was a beautiful day for a walk along the lake!
Friday is Tom’s day off, but the kids and I had a full day of work and school, so he decided to take his bike out for a ride after lunch. He rode through Wickenburg to the little town of Yarnell, in the mountains.
This is the town that lost their team of Hot Shot firefighters last summer in the Yarnell Hill fire.
Tom stopped at the Fire Station to see the memorial to the firefighters.
On the way back down the mountain, he stopped at an overlook of the desert below, and the small town of Congress.
It was a beautiful day to be outside!
We still enjoy seeing you guys doing things as a family which is something more people should do.
ReplyDeleteEven a year later that tragedy of the loss of the Hot Shots Team is still hard to believe in today's age of technology.
Tom wasn't far from where Al and Kelly Bosense from Travels with the Bayfield Bunch reside in Congress but they were out on a Jeep trip with other people who like exploring the back hills with their jeeps.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Yea, and their Jeep tour took them to Crown King, which is on the BLM land surrounding Lake Pleasant, where we are volunteering . . . it's a small world!
