Birthday Week

Our week started out pretty quiet, and fortunately we had pretty nice weather.  There was rain predicted for several days, but it never quite made it here.  No snow, either!!

As I fought my way through computer issues on both our Wifi Ranger and my work computer, Tom and Bryce were busy finishing up some lawn work, and getting started on opening up the pool for the summer season.

They removed the cover, drained the old water and cleaned out the pool, and cleaned the deck and pool furniture.

Bryce is as cooperative as ever when it comes to photos!

My work computer got straightened out by the end of the week, and the Wifi Ranger . . . well, the campground IT guy helped me out with a work-around, so we're at least functional.

Our week ended with a double birthday celebration for Tom and I.

On Thursday, we treated ourselves to pizza and salad at our favorite local pizza shop -- Hart Pizza.  Afterwards, Bryce treated us to ice cream sundaes -- the ice cream shop in Hart was open - Yay!

Don't let the look on Tom's face fool you -- the ice cream was very good!  I think the sun was in his eyes -- he forgot to wear his hat!

For Tom's birthday the next day, we had steaks -- the first ones we've been able to grill in about 6 months!  We topped that dinner off with a special birthday pie!

Cute, isn't it?  I wish I could take credit for it, but I bought the pie at the local grocery store -- they have an excellent bakery!

Saturday was a cold, rainy, nasty day . . . so we went shopping . . . serious shopping!

Dunham's, Hobby Lobby, Menard's, Joann Fabrics, Kohl's. Big Lots, Harbor Freight, and Walmart . . . whew!!  We were gone all day, and by the time we got home, we were exhausted!

We have several projects we're working on, and we were able to get the supplies we needed for most of them . . . just one more stop at the local hardware this morning after church, and we were all set.

New furniture for our patio. . .

and flowers for the yard.

Project #1 was completed this afternoon -- a curtain to replace the worn-out day/night shade over the head of our bed.

I like the look, but it remains to be seen if it's going to let too much light in at night.  We'll see . . .

  1. An extended birthday wish to both you and Tom.
Looks like you are personalizing your site just like we did here at Wildwood.
    Like the smiling pie.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
